Step 1: Reflection and summary of the passing year

<aside> 💡 Write a short narrative summarizing the highlights of the passing year. You can replace the areas of life with ones that are more meaningful to you, as the template is solely for your own reflection. When writing your narrative, aim to be brief and concise, but make sure to include the key points that were important to you.

My key achievements in professional life in 2022 were X, Y, Z. Through making changes such as A, B, C, I managed to reach this outcome.

Similarly, in sport, health and wellness, I achieved X, Y, Z by making changes such as A, B, C.

I was also proud of the accomplishments I made in other areas such as social life, spirituality, and personal relationships, as well as financial and savings, which included X, Y, Z.

Throughout the year, I felt the happiest during the moments X, Y, Z. However, I did not succeed at X, Y, Z, and it was a source of guilt for me.

Moreover, I was not pleased with X, Y, Z, and the moments that I felt the saddest were X, Y, Z. However, despite these moments I was still able to find joy in other aspects of life.

Step 2: Intentions and high level themes for next year

<aside> 💡 Write another narrative to summarize your intentions and high-level goals for the next year. Aim to address any failures and sources of guilt from the previous year, but it's up to you. Whether it's about becoming better at what you're already doing, starting a new venture, or pivoting to a different direction, use this narrative to structure your intentions.

In 2023, I want to be intentional about achieving the professional, health and wellness, financial, social and personal relationship goals. I want to address and mitigate the things that made me unhappy in 2022, eliminate sources for guilt and become a better individual.

Step 3: Write high-level goals

Based on the 2023 outlook, write down the goals that you want to achieve next year. Here, focus on the outcomes, not the outputs.

Examples:

Become a strong and vital individual.

❌ Go to the gym 4x / week.

Save EUR 10K

❌ Stop having lunch out.
